Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using the HadaBuddy mobile app, visiting the HadaBuddy website, subscribing to our emails, or otherwise accessing any HadaBuddy service (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

HadaBuddy is a skincare companion that spans a mobile app, a website, a public ingredient glossary, an editorial blog, and an email newsletter. The mobile app helps you scan and catalogue skincare products, build a personalised skin profile, and receive AI-generated morning and evening routine suggestions; it also includes a Skin Advisor feature that answers skincare-related questions. The website provides product information, ingredient-level guides, and links to download the app. The blog and newsletter deliver educational content about skincare ingredients and routines.

You must be at least 13 years of age to use HadaBuddy. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have permission from a parent or guardian. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement.

Account Creation

You may use HadaBuddy as a guest, or sign in with a Google or Apple account. Guest users have limited functionality and their data is stored only on-device. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.

Accurate Information

You agree to provide accurate skin profile information. Providing false information may result in less useful or unsuitable recommendations.

Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from within the app. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

HadaBuddy is a consumer lifestyle app, not a medical service. All content, routines, ingredient analysis, and advice provided by HadaBuddy (including AI-generated responses) are for general informational and educational purposes only. Nothing in the Service constitutes medical or dermatological advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Always consult a qualified dermatologist or healthcare professional before making changes to your skincare routine, especially if you have a skin condition, allergy, or are using prescription treatments. Do not disregard professional medical advice based on information from HadaBuddy.

If you experience irritation, allergic reactions, or worsening skin conditions after using a product recommended by HadaBuddy, discontinue use immediately and consult a qualified healthcare professional.

Routines, recommendations, and advisor responses are generated by artificial intelligence based on the information you provide. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable for your specific situation. HadaBuddy makes no warranty about the accuracy or appropriateness of any AI output.

Ingredient analysis is performed using a combination of our ingredient database and AI. When you photograph the back label of a product, AI is used to extract the ingredient list from the image. This extraction may contain errors, omissions, or misreadings. Always verify ingredients by reading the physical product label yourself, especially if you have known sensitivities or allergies.

HadaBuddy maintains a database of skincare product ingredients sourced from third-party databases including INCIDecoder, EWG Skin Deep, Ulta, YesStyle, Open Beauty Facts, and other publicly available sources. Ingredient ratings (good, neutral, caution) are generated by AI and reflect general dermatological consensus, not medical advice specific to your skin.

This data may be incomplete, outdated, or contain errors. Product formulations change over time, and our database may not reflect the most current version of a product. HadaBuddy makes no warranty about the completeness, accuracy, or currency of ingredient data. Always read the full ingredient list on the physical product packaging before use.

Ingredient ratings and safety assessments are for general informational purposes only and do not constitute medical, dermatological, or allergological advice. Individual reactions to ingredients vary; an ingredient rated as "good" may still cause reactions in some individuals.

You are responsible for evaluating the suitability of any product or routine recommended by HadaBuddy before using it. You agree to perform patch testing before introducing new products to your skincare routine and to review product labels for potential allergens, irritants, or sensitivities. Use of any product based on HadaBuddy recommendations is entirely at your own risk.

HadaBuddy participates in the Amazon Associates affiliate programme. When we recommend products and you purchase through our links, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Product recommendations are generated by AI based on your skin profile and are not paid placements or sponsored content.

Subscription

By submitting your email address through a signup form on our website, you consent to receive marketing emails from HadaBuddy (educational content, ingredient guides, product launches, occasional offers). The frequency is roughly one email per week.

Unsubscribe

Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You may also unsubscribe using your email client's native "Unsubscribe" button (enabled via the List-Unsubscribe header). Unsubscribe takes effect immediately: we stop sending further marketing emails to your address. If you believe you were signed up without your consent, please email hello@hadabuddy.com and we will remove you.

Transactional Emails

Certain operational emails (welcome message on signup, confirmation of unsubscribe, password reset if applicable, security alerts) are necessary to operate the Service and continue even if you unsubscribe from marketing. These are not promotional.

No Commercial Sharing

We do not sell or rent the subscriber list. We do not share your email with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Resend (our email provider) processes sends on our behalf under a standard data processing agreement.

Free Tier

HadaBuddy offers limited free access including a set number of product scans and routine generations. Once free limits are reached, a paid subscription is required to continue using those features.

HadaBuddy Pro

HadaBuddy Pro is available as a monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription. Pricing is displayed in the app before purchase and may vary by region. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID via the App Store.

Free Trial

We may offer a free trial period for HadaBuddy Pro. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged for the subscription plan you selected.

Cancellation & Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings (Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access until then. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies.

Price Changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time. You will be notified of any price changes in advance and given the opportunity to cancel before the new price takes effect.

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy any part of the Service; use automated tools to access the Service at a scale that burdens our infrastructure; share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of other individuals without their consent; or use the Service to distribute spam or harmful content.

All content, design, code, and branding within HadaBuddy (including the name, logo, and user interface) are owned by HadaBuddy and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

Your Content

You retain ownership of data you provide (skin profile, product photos). By using the Service you grant us a limited licence to process this data solely to provide and improve the Service.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HadaBuddy and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including skin reactions, product purchases, or losses arising from reliance on AI-generated content) even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (or $10 USD if you have not made any payment).

When you scan a product barcode, the association between the barcode and the identified product may be stored in our shared database to improve product identification for all users. Designated super admin users may also update shared product information, such as corrected ingredient lists.

By contributing data to HadaBuddy (including barcode scans, product corrections, and scan feedback), you grant HadaBuddy a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute such data for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. You represent that you have the right to contribute any data you provide.

HadaBuddy may offer promotional codes from time to time. Promo codes are subject to any terms specified at the time of issuance. Unless otherwise stated, promo codes are non-transferable, have no cash value, may not be combined with other offers, and expire on the date specified. We reserve the right to void or revoke any promo code that we reasonably believe was obtained or used fraudulently, in error, or in violation of the applicable terms.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless HadaBuddy and its operator (Novia Lim), from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) any content or data you contribute to the Service.

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or if modification is not possible, severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and HadaBuddy regarding your use of the Service. These Terms supersede any prior agreements, communications, or understandings, whether written or oral, relating to the subject matter herein.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect when changes were made.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against HadaBuddy.
